it got to the point where i just wanted this done and out of my head.
i have never spent this much time on a picture before. i am really really happy with how the characters came out, not so much the background. i might go back to that before the duedate for the contest.
while i'm pretty convinced that i'm not going to win due to pretty subpar poses, but i had a good time drawing this. ...i can't think of much else to say! feel free to crit the bg and stuff, i want to know wtf to do about it. PERSPECTIVE IS DUMB AND I HATE IT

Ahh, brilliant! I know everyone is saying this, but your shading really suits this! I wouldn't worry too much about the bg, I think it might just be that the windows should be angled away or something? Or the people faaarthest in the background shouldn't be quite so small. But really, it does what it's meant for, which is contribute a really 40s army feel to the whole setting.

thanks so much! really i'm worrying about the BG because i have such issues with backgrounds in general, i don't want to just cop out as often as i wind up doing. and the windows were totally angled...before i added the curtains

Honestly, even without a clue about the characters and what you have to do for the contest ... I still love this. Your sepia-like colour use is really admirable in a full-blown scene, whch I've not seen from you so much, and the scene itself looks lively enough with these poses. The depth with the faded background looks well done - stuff perspective indeed!
