(Minor Neo TWEWY spoilers ahead, please proceed with caution!)It seems a trendy new fashion brand has taken Shibuya by storm - Gatto Nero! And its mascot seems to be a very familiar cat plushie... Could the creators of this brand be-!?
...Well, I think we can all guess! It's good to see that a certain seamstress and fashion designer are getting to live their dream, I'm so proud of them!
So anyways, Square Enix is releasing a line of Gatto Nero-inspired merchandise, all with cute lil Mr Mew ears! Honestly, I'm in love with all of them. And the hat in particular is noteworthy - it comes with these awesome pins that I'm sure are going to be in Neo TWEWY. The designs of the pins really inspired me to draw something, well, Gatto Nero-inspired! I wanted to also give it a bit of a pop art vibe, and decided to use comic book tones for the shadows, rather than my usual colouring style. The Gatto Nero pins have a lot of pink and green (which I'm 100% sure references Eri and Shiki), but also some blue, which became the basis for my colour scheme here. It's quite different from my usual art, but I like it!
