Love Haleth's expression!
Is Caranthir the one right behind her?

Perfect piece of art. Colour, assemblage of persons, mood, shading, highlights, focal point. You can easily tell the Elves apart from the Men.

The atmosphere is stunning - sombre, respectful but strong. The clothes are convincing too: ceremonial without being showy. Impressive. Thanks for a treat.

No, for example in this illustration my impression is due to the "orange line" that surround each character, do you see in a better way what i'm speaking about ? ^^

I always understood "those who devoured her kin" as an allusion, meaning that Haleth was left with no bodies to bury after the battle... But your interpretation of this scene is really gorgeous so I might as well change my mind. ^^Β
I love the Haladin as a people more than everyone else in the Silmarillion, let alone Feanor's house maybe. Seeing that somebody has drawn such a stunning image of them makes me happier than I can say.

steamey In reply to oOSulimeOo [2014-04-04 13:58:05 +0000 UTC]
Oh, really - this could be understood as if there were no bodies for burial. But for some reason I immediately thought about the big "brotherly" mound where reposed all fallen warriors. The mound had to be large, so near Haleth worth Caranthir and and some of his warriors.
