Description
This Coat of Arms is part of a project exploring an Alternate 1920’s where WW1 never occurred and Pan-National movements are on the rise across Europe.
In this timeline, Pan-Germanism is one of the most successful Pan-National movements and has developed this Coat of Arms for a Großdeutschland (Greater Germany).
The main field is the Imperial Yellow of the Holy Roman Empire, with a black double headed eagle. The double headed eagle was the traditional symbol of the Holy Roman Empire, but the eagle adopted by the by the Second Reich in 1871 had only one head, symbolising that important parts of the old empire, Austria and Bohemia, had been left outside the Reich. This new Coat of Arms restores the second head, showing that the Germanic Peoples have been re-united.
Notes
The Pan-German Coat of Arms is heavily based on the real life German Coat of Arms, designed by Tobias Schwab in 1928. Perhaps in this timeline, he designed the Pan-German Coat of Arms?
I traced this image in order to get the proportions of the Aquila right (I seriously cannot draw eagles…)
This Coat of Arms is a work of fiction; no political comment is made or implied.
