Description Homer is a fellow visitor in the Cocker Town area. He is a former Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis L1-55 Mikado built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1915. Mainly used for freight service, Homer was also used as a helper engine on steep grades during his career on the NC&StL. Retired in the 1950s, Homer was sold to a tourist railroad in Wisconsin (*cough* Mid Continent Railroad Museum *couch*) and hauled tourist trains up until the late 1990s. The Pennsville Scenic Railroad needed an engine to haul coal trains out of Port Clinton from the Reading and Northern's transfer yards. So they bought Homer for that job and he was soon put to work hauling coal trains out of Port Clinton. He's often used on freight trains on the PSRR's mainlines and branch lines, but sometimes comes down to Cocker Town to haul tourist trains through the valley and into the mountains.
