Description
On Christmas Eve many a year ago
My love and I would wander through the wood
And happily singing songs through the snow
To the chimes of the bells in merry mood
We held hands during our stroll to the kirk
From which the steeple proclaimed to nations
In the midst of the village "God shall work
Great miracles for all generations"
For her I opened the door to the church
We found warmth, comfort sitting in the nave
My dearest upon my shoulder would perch
Her beautiful head, her strength she could save
The clerestory echoed whilst in bliss
As bells rang softly we shared a kiss
