So this little lady calls herself Ruby.Don't ask her real name, she doesn't like nosy mortals ...
She is the brat in my little vampire clan, never doing as good vampires do and certainly not caring who is in her way.
Bitten almost a thousand years ago (at about 16 years of age) she has little patience with 'young ones'.
However, the girl really has a weak spot for the von Krolocks and as she often hangs out with her maker Alfons, their pathes cross quite frequently.
I really love how the way her colors turned out (even though the scanner cut a lot of green :-/ )
Most of it is done in acrylics ... with bits of colored pencil for the detail.

I love the colors and it's mood.
I don't know why but the makeup on her gives me the feeling that she is concealing her real age. You said she was the brat of the group. But because she's hiding her eyes I get the feeling that she could have matured from her childishness behind their backs and is simply putting on a front. Perhaps that's why she hates the younger ones. Because it reminds her of her true self she lost long ago.
Her collar gives me the feeling that she's sending a message of being trapped for some reason.
I know I'm reading to much into this but it's so much fun looking at her and imagining her move and live from the 1900 to now. From what she may have looked like then, to this...

Strangely enough I have been writing about her mature side, but I never looked at it from this point of view.
You really helped me a lot with this. I have been planning a comic on her, but was never fully satisfied with her character. But this gives her the emotional depth I was looking for!
