Description Privately commissioned fantasy sword for a customer who decided he "was woefully unprepared for the zombie apocalypse".

Overall length of this sword is around 900mm. It is forged from a truck leaf spring which was 10mm thick by about 60mm wide. First off I had to forge the spring down to 6mm thick, then cut the gutting hook and hand guards away with a hot chisel before stretching and shaping the blade. All the edges were hand forged then aligned and polished with an angle grinder then a da sander and a polishing wheel. The scales are Walnut and the whole piece is finished with a microcrystaline wax.

Also note the working bottle opener at the front of the hand guard

Well there, you said it for me.
I was wondering why it was labeled falcata, and now I'm not. Pity though, I own a pri kukri from Nepal and the leading edge is a most capable cutter. Weight distribution and poured quenching technique. the only 10 1/2" blade I've ever cut firewood with.

I like most of this. The only problem I have is the spike below the grip.

Im certain he will fare much better when zombies shoud strike

I just discussed the problem with friends and we found out that zombie apocalypse may not be so farfeched as we would expect - just think - when oil and electricity are removed there wont be any food and services provided in the cities where miljons of people live and at an instant - in few weeks when supplies in stores run out they will be turned into swarm of hungry zombies who need sustenance and then its pretty much every man for himself

Unfortunately my friend it is true, the survival scenario really isn't that far away I think. When I was a kid I could never have imagined it happening, but now I can see it happening before I die. It is a worrying world we live in...

Interesting times to say the least well - Fallout II has ever been one of my favourite games but im afraid the reality would be more like Shadow of Chernobl
As we can see the oil is not the only recource but theres big tension between China and India over fresh water ressources of some riveres that pass through both countries.

And before you say it, I know it is not a pure falcata, but that was the inspiration and main influence of this sword. The commissionee didn't like the falcata blade though, and wanted it to look like this.
