Wow.. I'm finally finished with this... This is a drawing drawn and inked by my friend wich I coloured as a birthday present to him. Yes you heard me right, this is a birthday present to the guy who drew it wich I coloured. Weird huh?
I used watercolours for the hole picture, and I sure used a tonn of time on this... but it was all worth it!
(I sure hope the scanner didn't kill the colours too much..)

oh I'm afraid I didn't draw this, this is Waaaaaay back when I couldn't draw and only coloured what my friend drew. don't hold your breath I'll draw much like this though

It is just lovely! A really great work and. Everyone can see, that you gave your best! I really like the clothes and the blood on the top of the sword!! Hmmm... would you maybe, maybe someday be so cute and nice to coulour one pocture out for me? This would be fantastic (not now, but in the future)

Hey I love the color skeem you chose. The pigment is mutted slightly and very smooth between the shades. I don't see glaring bright colors mixed with earthy tones. Lovely work. You freind does a nice job as well.

and yea, I've allways loved the medival settings too, I don't draw that many medival drawings though, since it's so hard to find good reference photos for cloths and such for that time...

I used to have alot of trouble finding medeival refrences as well. But then I attended a renfair and my troubles where solved. use google and just type in renfest or renfair. renasance fair. Things like that and you will find many neat idea's. I sometimes find myself inspired by a simple bracer and a full outfit slowly emerges just by using a bracers patern or texture. Pick and peice you're outfit together by collecting what inspires you into a morgue. Many artists have such files. They cut out anything from magazines that inspire them from colors, textures, clothing, figures, hands, eyes, lips, You name it. It can even be a simpple button. I keep my morgue on disk's. I don't have a file box. I would have to many.

I really love the colouring you did! Very detailed sort of colouring, and it fits the drawing style really, really well. That chain mail must have been a pain to colour, though

yea HOW do I find the patience? dunno.. when I colour such detailed drawing as this, I can sit forever tweaking it, since its SO much more easy to colour a well drawn picture than one of my own 'half-well-drawn-pictures...

thanks! strangly you're not the only one who have said that.. sure, I've read some of the Redwall series, so I see what you mean.. cuddly cute little critters in a medival theme... but that serie don't have badass characters like this guy though! (the evildoers allways annoyied me at that serie since they allways was such cowards..)
