Description
Mature content: strong language.
Well, it's not really language so much as...obscene hand gestures. Because that's a just an awesome, edgy thing to do, right? 8D Dunno if I should also check nudity...Jerkass Sue is kinda pushing it. But still, you can't see anything.
So I found this thing while browsing, and I had to give it a shot. Mostly done in crappy doodles, but hey. I didn't want to expend too much effort on a throwaway joke character.
I noticed while looking at the completed ones that:
1.) Most of the Sues were really exaggerated...which is funny enough sometimes (I love reading deconstructions of Sues, with the parody character that damn exaggerated), but man...I felt it was time to play on something I've actually seen. Everything here comes from snippets of bad RP character profiles on Gaiaonline. Enjoy.
2.) Most people went for the "classic" Sue. I felt it was time to try a little variety. That, and I have a bit of a bias against these idiots, since I've had the misfortune of playing with them a few times, and I've found them more memorably awful than their "classic" counterparts. This one is largely based on one I met recently and still can't stop complaining about, largely since her creator...seemed to think that calling her sexy over and over again somehow made her sexy. I still can't decide whether it was hilarious or disgusting (maybe a little of both?).
That said, a little info here. Ayumu was originally created for an RP that died...but ~
Fullmetal-Phantom
and I got a little too attached to each others' characters, and so we created an original universe for them. In which we are starting a new public group RP...and writing a graphic novel and/or learning to work Blender to make an animated series...and basically we've gotten really excited about this project, gotten the rest of our "family" on board...gonna be fun!
Setting: Your fairly typical supernatural school. Humans are evolving to develop strange powers, and the government is kidnapping as many of these individuals as they can find for military purposes. So, this school was created as a safe haven...and a training ground for those who will eventually end the program.
...hey wait, isn't this exactly what the "bad guys" are doing?
Technical info: People often have two or three unique abilities, though it's not uncommon for people to only have one. More than three is as of yet unrecorded (Jerkass Sue mistake #1 - we said limit of three, and we meant limit of three). They're classed into various "families," and the combination of abilities one has seems to be as unique as a fingerprint.
I'll put a link to the RP version here when the whole thing is posted. But in any case, take this as a guide to what not to do. Okay?
Anyway. Breakdown, panel by panel:
1.) WOO, PANTY SHOT! It wasn't as fun to draw as it seems like it might be. I was rolling my eyes the whole time. Jerkass Sue's pose here, as well as general appearance, is loosely based on the picture used for the one I recently met, mentioned above.
Yes, her shirt is wide open down to the navel. Even though yes, this is supposed to be a uniform. Supposedly she's "just so pretty the teachers let her get away with it." (Yes, I've seen that before.) Also a case of Did Not Do The Research in the name. And it doesn't even sound that cool. >.>;
2.) I have a big pet peeve with when people cheap out of personality information. Even worse when it's backstory. I don't care if your character doesn't like to tell everyone everything, that information still exists. You are not IC yet!
Also, there really should be something to your character besides looks and asshattery. Just saying.
3.) ...for the record, I hate that song. But it decided to play on the radio while I was drawing that picture and I couldn't help but laugh. Too perfect. Really does seem like a Jerkass Sue theme song.
...by "people", she means her writer, by the way.
4.) Attention whore backstory, go! Again...yes, this is borrowed from reality.
5.) Yuuki is ~
Fullmetal-Phantom
's character from the same things; Kosuke...would have been ~
Haido-Valentine
's from the beginning, but...the creator of the old RP never signed on to respond to the PM, so now he's a character in our thing.
Also, I swear that one Jerkass Sue only existed for PM or off-site smut. She was trying to get in bed with everything that moved.
6.) Ayumu's primary power is phase shifting - he can change the form of his body between solid, liquid, and gas. His secondary and tertiary powers are geokinesis and telekinesis, respectively - which means he can manipulate rocks and minerals with about 60% of the efficiency of a primary power (would be 50%, but telekinesis is complementary to any other physical manipulative powers), and move anything else with about 20% efficiency (would be 25%, but a power that exists in an individual as a complement is a little weaker on its own) (yay technical info!). Again, this is about normal in this universe.
As usual, rules don't apply to Jerkass Sue.
7.) The incident he's referring to...was extremely fun to write. I feel awful for having enjoyed it so much. I can't wait until we can get a finalized version on paper.
Also, oh dear, looks like Jerkass Sue's on the defensive! ...oh no, wait, she's just being a jerkass again. Of course she's perfect. My bad!
8.) HELL YES, CARTOON VIOLENCE! Fun fact: Iron is a mineral. It occurs naturally, it has a crystalline form, and it's inorganic - the definition of a mineral. So, a justified strength boost!
