it's basically : icon(whatever) : and remove the spaces. It's designed to show the icon of a deviant, but people create "plz accounts" so people can use those icons. C: Examples:

If you click on the icon it takes you to a whole account, which is really just only there for the icon.
The only way to really know which icons exist is to see other people use them around dA.
