Description
The title refers to the fact it's a second attempt at this painting:I liked the idea of the original "Magpies"mrdexarts.deviantart.com/art/T…
but thought it was a bit too cluttered and tight... so tried again.

i just realised how would that bird support the necklace..... since birds are light with their hollow bones, that looks like a heavy necklace lol

FRECKLES! xD The lower-right hand corner is what makes this picture for me, though. I love the detail in the bird. That eye looks so incredibly real. And the way the light hits the feathers on his head and beak are so pretty. Her hand and the ring--everything is just so lovely.

Yeah, this one pulls me in.. you almost immediately start fleshing in the back-story to this character. Impressive work.

I adore this, there's a wealth of action going on with the pose and loosness of her jacket. Also it speaks volumes on story telling.

I prefer the eyeline in this one: in the first she seemed too aware that there was a presence looking at her; this one she is more integrated into the picture, and her focus on the magpie gives a more emotional feel.
The magpie above her seems a bit big, but the positioning of the three is perfect. Her clothes remind me of a female gunslinger for some reason.
Good colour choice again too.

This one is like a "close-up" of the last one, not necessarily a "redo"- if I'm making any sense...?
As in, it's a different picture, but not quite?

I like the first one better. I don't really feel a focus on this one, the locket on the flying Magpie makes your eye wander all over the picture. The first painting that you did draws you *into* the picture.
That's just my two cents though.
