This shot won a daily deviation on 8/19/2011.This is shot I took this morning during my visit to Lower Antelope Canyon. Typically people go for those fancy light beam shots, but this is not the best time of year for that, so I focused more on the stone formations and the way the light colored the rocks. This is my favorite shot from the various ones I took there, and I hope you enjoy it too. Definitely go check this place out if you're ever in Northern Arizona!

Stunning. I love the colors going full spectrum from blue violets to yellows and oranges. The canyon itself is also very lovely with striated sides that seem smooth the the eye. Incredible photograph.

How this beautiful image makes me feel, may sound strange, but it reminds me of the inside of a heart, the contours like a physical muscle that life's blood might pass through, & the light like a variety of deep human feeling. When my father had heart surgery not too long ago, we almost lost him. The hopeful flow of love's light felt like this image, when he finally came out of his touch & go state.
So.. this really touches me. (I know, this comment is strange, but then art does that, right?
