"It is funny because a squirrel gets dead."My driving instructor always had a hate-on for squirrels, or as she called them, "tree rats", and made a point of telling the students never to swerve or brake to avoid hitting them. But I guess you can't argue with someone whose job entails knowing exactly how many accidents have been caused that way.

I was driving with my dad one day when I was like 15 or 16 and a squirrel runs out in front of us, I swerved and nearly plowed into a brick mailbox. He pretty said the same thing, just in a much, much more pissed off fatherly tone.

My mother once had an elderly neighbor who hated squirrels because one had gotten into her house one time and tore everything up. One time my mother was driving her and a squirrel crossed the road, and the neighbor said, "Is that a squirrel? Kill it! Kill it!" My mother refused though.
