Description An adult Shag (Phalacrocorax aristotelis) feeding it's chicks at the Farne Islands in N.E. England.
I have another photo much closer which I may upload too.

Was going to crop this due to the branch that got in the way at the bottom left, but it would not show the cute wings the baby Shag has

so cool! cute and fluffy.... babies remind me of muppets!
its interesting to me that they're so close to the size of the adult, but the fluffiness of their feathers denote that they're still chicks... nice capture!

I loved the patterns on the adult and the wings on the chicks. The eggs are quite small considering the size of the young (luckily for the adults)

I was wondering about that... the must develop amazingly fast to get to that size... very cool!
yeah, i thought the wings on the chicks were great as well! hard to see the pattern on the adult- my screen is horrible.
