i really hope they go this route in the show. though i also hope its not something thats settled in like seconds. like end it on a maybe and then next season work on that.

I don't know, I've been waiting an awfully long time for them to revisit the changelings, I don't think I could bear waiting another season for them to finally do the right thing with them... then again, leaving them and ponies on neutral terms would avoid the utter catastrophe Starlight Glimmer's character is in right now. A happy ending is no good if it feels rushed. Agreed!

You know, is it me, or is it kinda saddening how few and far between these kind of pictures are? I know we need some drama and conflict for our stories, but when you look at the setting of this show, then surely this kind of peaceful coexistence between ponies and changelings is totally feasible without going through the usual grimdark and "gritty realism" we see in countless fanfictions.
Regardless, it's a sweet and lovely picture. I wish those two lovestruck kids all the best.

I mean, I'm not sure if the show or comics actually WILL do this. I sincerely Hope they will, but we've got future season, arcs and a movie to find out.
And hey, at least we had that changeling who showed up at Cranky and Matilda's wedding with little to no conflict, as a friend of Matilda's, according to MA Larson.

Honestly, this sort of thing is completely doable, especially in the context of the show.
I've never read that story myself, and I'm seriously reluctant to do so: from some things I've heard, it's one of those stories that vilifies ponies into murderous racists, particularly demonizing Canterlot ponies, in favor of promoting the changelings. Am I misinformed? Because I serious dislike of those kinda set ups.

I love Kuno! An Affliction of the Heart is still my favorite MLP fic of all time ^^
I liked it so much that to this day I can't bring myself to read the sequels, because they can't possibly be as perfect as the first.

That doesn't really describe AotH to me at all. It's really just about one changeling, not their race as a whole. The overwhelming bulk of the story has to do with the relationship between Kuno and Warden. There are a couple really bad ponies in it, but they're bad to begin with. And they're not the royal guard. You'll see what I mean if you decide to give it a read.
I genuinely cannot recommend it enough.
