New character from my Ponyfinder campaign - first time i tried to draw a crystal pony. Rather cheap effect, but i think it works out quite nicely.Related content

So... how does fur work for crystal ponies? I kinda always assumed they didn't even have a proper coat, more like a glossy, smooth skin that becomes translucent under appropriate circumstances.

Here's a better question: They're all translucent enough to let the background shine through their body, so why can't we see their innards?

You know, this question passed through my mind the moment I wrote 'translucent'. Still no success in finding an answer. Still magic?
...Or, it could be that their organs, bones and whatnot are transparent as well, along with their body fluids. And whatever they eat, drink or otherwise introduce in their body gets rapidly absorbed by the tissues and becomes in turn transparent.
I'm pretty convinced there do exist organic molecules that are transparent to visible light, so this isn't strictly scientifically impossible.

I'm sure they have an efficient hygiene policy. And that their poo acts as a fertilizer for crystals.
