Maybe that's why he's so upset, his monitors gone. Or, maybe he has a weird super power where he can connect to electrical devices and see the computer through his own mind.

see it could be funny, cuz sometimes it's involuntary. So if he walks by someone's computer and they are looking at porn, then it leaves for some interesting mental pictures! or he can hear the nagging mother on the cell phone beside him. He hates it, it's a constant background noise and he likes coffee and caffeine because it adds static and adrenaline which helps increase his focus so he can tune it all out! He hates to sleep because in a relaxed state it all winds up in his head and processes the data, so he drinks more caffeine to stay awake! It has it's plus and minuses. if he ever needs to solve a crime, it could be a benefit.
