Darth Vader is one of the most iconic villains seen in cinema. Since his introduction to Star Wars, he has left a terrifying impression on all who witness his actions. From his expressionless helmet to his hollow breaths, Darth Vader is shrouded in mystery.
He wants to transform power into greater control over the galaxy, but has no real plan for doing so. Vader talks in empty platitudes; he truly hates himself and what he has become.
Darth Vaderβs tragic story as the valiant Jedi Knight turned evil proves that even the good people of this world can make bad decisions when caught in a compromising circumstance in the name of love.
He was fighting to save the life of Princess Amidalla, his beloved wife who is due to give birth to his offspring. He became Darth Vader when he was promised by the Emperor that he would find a way to save his wife's life if he had joined the 'Dark Side of the Force.
Darth Vader dreams of his wife and the dark side of the Force struggling over him. As Darth Vader, he had a dream of his now-deceased wife struggling over him with manifestations of the dark side.
Vader was broken. He had ambitions, he had desires, he had objectives. He had all of those things, and then he destroyed them by his own hands. Vader wanted peace and order in the galaxy, to end the Clone War and save the people, to free them all from the chains of a bloated and hopelessly inefficient democracy that had become so corrupt and weighed down by its own self-interest that it had ceased to truly serve the people decades ago. More than all of that, though, he wanted to save the lives of the people he loved. He failed on all accounts, and in the end all that was left of his world was Palpatine and the person that Palpatine wanted him to be. If Vader were to receive a Sith title like the Lords of old did, then he would be the Lord of Grief. What you must understand about Vader, more than anything else, is that he is a slave.
From the moment he learned Padme was dead, Vader just stopped caring about anything. He went along with everything Palpatine did because he was all he had left, and the idea of trying to improve the situation was tantamount to trying to escape what was in his opinion a well-deserved fate. The only time he ever wasnβt a miserable wreck was when he went around killing people, and that was basically just venting his anger out on a universe he blamed for everything. Itβs not until he learns of Luke that Vader gains any kind of will to just exist outside of that fugue state.ππ‘πΏ
