Description
11/04/09 Now updated to file version 11.0.6002.18111, due to a recent windows update of Vista SP2.08/14/09 Now updated to file version 11.0.6002.18065, due to a recent windows update of Vista SP2.
06/06/09 Now updated to file version 11.0.6002.18005, for being able to work with Vista SP2.
03/07/09 Now updated to file version 11.0.6001.7004, for being able to work with the latest windows updates.
NOTE: Suits very well with Sweatyfish's ProjectX 2 ([link] )!
Black & White WMP11 is for WINDOWS VISTA 32 bits (x86) WITH SERVICE PACK 1.
This skin is a modification of Longhornfusion's ([link]) « PDC '03 Windows Media Player » ([link]).
Here are the changes I've done in the first version:
- The icon on the top left of the window before the title is greyscaled (and it's the same for the icon in the taskbar).
- The back/forward buttons are now black.
- It's the same for the buttons of menus "Now playing" ("Lecture en cours" in french), "library" ("bibliothèque"), etc...
- The icons in each tabs of the "Option" window are now greyscaled too.
Version 2.0:
- No more blue halo around command buttons for listening.
- File description text is not anymore dark blue but white when window is maximized.
- File icons are now black & white.
- Windows media player toolbar when reduced in the taskbar is now colorblind.
I have to say a BIG thank you to Longhornfusion ([link]), who has allowed me to publish this work.

Well, they did it again. I woke up this morning and WMP was back to blue. Will v6 be in the works? Is this just an "image issue" that I can do myself, or is there some scripting involved?

Yeah, I saw it too this morning, wmp has recently been updated.
I'll try to make a v6 for this week-end.
If you have the time for making the changes with restorator or reshack, it's just a question of extraction/insertion of the pictures from the modded file to the updated file (wmploc.dll).
No scripting needed (hopefully!)

ok thanks for the info. i'd always used yours, because i never knew if it was just the images or not. i do have reshack, so that means i should be able to "fix" it myself in the future. thanks again for all your selfless effort, as well as the info.

Hey Im on WMP 11.0.6001.7000 And I am having not luck in updating and can not seem to get your skin to work, I had it before and would love to have it again. Is there a way I can? I remember seeing some where the last time about editing some file myself to get a skin to work for WMP if it was not the rite version. But cant seem to find it, any help would be great. Thanks! Now my vista is updated to sp2, and your skin installed correctly at first attempt, but when i burn music on cd and then i try to copy it it says error (when i try to copy music on the cd on my windows media player library)
I don't know if my computer never can update to sp2...i think that my wmp didn't like it...cause now i can't copy music with my wmp...

I don't think it can be linked to a wmp skin (as long as I've only touched it's images and nothing else).
I guess that wmp updates are optionnal. Have you searched in windows update's optionnal updates? Maybe there's one for wmp.

Although, I suggest you to update your OS to SP2 (even if I thing it doesn't have much effect on WMP, but I'm not 100% sure).

Sorry for not being a lot avaiable since few months, but I was in holidays, it means travels, evening with friends, etc...
Added to that, I've "worked" on a watercooling system for my case, which is active since 2 days.
Well, for the next file version I'll release, it'll be the 11.0.6002.18065, not the one you expect.
Why? Because it's the version of the latest wmp update (there are too many file versions for making one for each), so, you should probably update your wmp for making it compatible with the file.
Your problem can only be fixed with windows update (and selecting wmp updates in the list of avaiable updates for your system)
