Description

-Chapter One-

She stared on in paralyzed horror, a strangled gasp working its way through her dry lips. The girl felt as if some invisible force had a vice grip on her throat; strangling a scream into a quiet hoarse rasp. What was more perplexing that frightening was the wide-eyed looking boring into her from behind a thickly framed set of rectangular glasses; situated high on the bridge of his nose. The brute looked almost as shocked as she was terrified! It might have come as a comfort, if he had not been.

Movement tore the young girl from her stupor. The lanky man moved closer, the sound of twigs and leaves crunching beneath his weight echoing in her ears. Amy scrambled backwards; wincing slightly as she drug her bloodied leg limply in front of her along the grass. The giant caught sight of the obvious trailing crimson, his expression converting to one of worry.

             “Yui’ra rirs…”

Amy froze, watching as the giant took hold of her foot with two gargantuan digits, turning her leg this way and that. The girl noted with growing concern that her own battered leg was scarcely longer than his middle finger. She bit the inside of her cheek, kicking her legs franticly. The lanky man persistently leaned closer, close enough that she could’ve reached out to touch his nose, inspecting the wound with scrutiny.

An idea clawed for audience at the back of her mind. Her hand slowly slid behind her back, fishing through her bag bushel of trinkets. The girl yanked a red can from the mass of key-chains, thrusting it towards the man’s eyes. She pulled the trigger, releasing a torrent of mace spray.

The giant looked confused for a moment; question written across his massive features. It was a few mere seconds before the burning sensation hit. Almost instantly, the man’s eyes were clamped shut tightly a body-wide cringe swept over him.  The second the slim digits fell from her leg, Amy was up and scrambling towards the orange leaved fall trees that led back into the safety of the forest.

Her limp slowed her from her normal speed, blood rushing down her calf as her heart rate accelerated. She almost slipped, the warm blood making the grass slick. Amy pushed on, ducking behind a ginger leaved oak just as the lanky man started to recover.

“Usr… Wrae vuird aeui du sros?” He groaned in his foreign tongue; his glasses propped up as he rubbed his burning eyes.

Slowly, the man climbed to his feet. She watched, shuddering at the alarming spectacle. His being seemed to stretch upward for miles, casting a cold shadow over her. His hands were at his sides, she noted with paranoia. The man began to tread softly about, dark eyes scanning the trees. It didn’t take very long for recognition to light up his expression, eyes falling upon a spotty red trail leading to her place of refuge among the trees.

Amy quickly ducked behind the sturdy oak, willing her weary pants to slow into quiet shallow breaths. She braced herself against the trunk of a tree, lowering herself into a sitting position. The blood had slowed to a small, consistent, trickle.

The woman slid her bag off, unzipping it and pulling out a thick green sweater. Gingerly, she wrapped the sweater around her calf, knotting the sleeves tightly around the front. It would have to do for now. She only hoped the overpowering sent of blood wouldn’t attract other any wild animals.

"Harru?" The girl stiffened against the tree trunk at the man’s deep voice, “Com aeui cuka uis? I kvaor I vum’s rirs aeui. Eqam oksar aeui virrad sros kvroae um ka… ”

Quietly, Amy traced circles on her temples, head throbbing. She had no clue what the giant was saying; he seemed content to prattle on to himself. With a grunt and slow pained hiss, she climbed to her shaky feet. Hauling her bag onto her shoulders, she staggered forwards.

Amy grit her teeth, taking it one step at a time. Tears clouded her hazel eyes, threatening to spill. Slowly but surely, she was making progress. The further she could trek back into the forest, the further she got away from that…thing…the safer she felt.

“Yui dmuv, srek vuird ba kicr kekvrar kur sra busr uk ik ek aeui iiks coka uis rara.” He growled out, running a hand through his hair in exasperation, “I rumaksrae iiks voms su rarv aeui vesr sros sokr!”

She remained silent, focusing on gaining distance than listening. A hush settled its weight on the moments tricking by as a fast rate. It spanned out a good six minutes before the bespectacled man piped up again.

“Fema. Ik aeui vum’s cuka uis um aeuir uvm…” The meaning to his words were unknown, but his voice took an irritate tone, “I’rr iiks roqa su kascr aeui kaekark,” She could hear the man sigh as the earth under her shoes began to shudder.

Amy grimaced, pouring on what little energy she had left into speed. The pain in her leg was numbing, finally. She wasn’t exactly sure whether that was fortunate or another thing to worry about. The ground trembled and shook, making her task abundantly more difficult than it was in the first place.

The sound of shifting fabric and leaves rustling invaded her hearing. Something brushed against her waist, her breath hitching as four slender digits slid around her torso. She clawed for footing as she was dragged backwards. Branches of trees snapped as she grabbed them, desperation taking grip.

In one swift movement, she was whisked away from her refuge and into the air. She gaped at the green scenery below, her head spinning with nausea. The man took little notice, bringing her to an uncomfortable proximity. She writhed violently, managing to free one hand as he turned her about in his hands slowly.

The giant regarded her with a testiness, eyes narrowed as he adjusted his rectangular glasses. She could feel his gaze pry into her. Fear bubbled up in her chest, heart beating like an injured birds against her ribs. It felt as if her blood had turned to a boil, pouring down her spine in hot, numbing terror.

Her gaze was fuzzy, dancing about the trees that seemed so far away. It would be much harder to look up. Dizzied, the clamped her eyes closed tightly as her stomach did queasy summersaults. The silence was unbearable.

Ah, thanks! >v< I'm kinda(really)slow with writing, but I try, lol.
Yeah, guess you understand the 'unpleasant circumstances' now. It should get pretty interesting! I had to re-write quite a bit I had already scribbled out when I added the language barrier.
It's called Evramekr, or something along those lines- haven't quite decided yet. It's actually from this little gem of a website! chaoticshiny.com/langreplace.p…
I couldn't actually come up w/ a whole language on my own, so I use this. TTvTT

Same, this story is actually a re-write of the original b/c it was really old and I couldn't think of anything good for the plot. Would you ever wanna beta read for each other? >0>
Yeah, it's really good for if you're bored too- I use the monster generator a lot.
