Woo! First piece of American Dragon anime-styled fanart from me. Possibly the first on DA?? *looks around puzzled @ other artists*
Disney have done it again. They've created a worthwhile show to watch (next to Kim Possible). If you've never seen American Dragon, go find an episode guide or something because I'm not bothering explaining it all to you.
The main plot of the cartoon is that Jake Long (the guy shown here) comes from a long line of Chinese dragons on his mother's side who protect the magical world (it skipped his mum's generation). His little sister Haley is a dragon, too, and his friends Trixie and Spud know about his "extra curricular activities".
Rose (the girl shown here) is his high school crush who just so happens to be Huntsgirl, who comes from a long line of dragon hunters known as the Hunts Clan, and is his enemy when he's Dragon!Jake. Rose never (to my knowledge at least) finds out that he's a dragon but Jake discovers she's Huntsgirl and is nursing a broken heart at the moment in the series.
It's very...Shakespearian in my own opinion. Tragic love and all that. Gotta love that stuff ;3 However, the moment Fu Dog starts spouting poetry and holding a skull, I'm leaving XD
A~NYWAY...back on topic.
This is possibly from my TMNT/American Dragon crossover "Heroes of New York City", as they're older here (Jake had a growth spurt; in the cartoon, Rose is taller than him XD). I tried to keep true to the cartoon while I drew it, but seeing as how I only had one pic of it (and I hate Jake's hair) I had to do it anime-style. And Jake has summoned his dragon wings, so they're possibly facing off with the Hunts Clan.
And...yeah.
Heh. Plastic Wrap is fast becoming my favourite playtoy on Photoshop Makes things go shiny =3

Nitpicks: Jake's hair. Though it's a far sight better than his cartoon hairstyle XD And I hate his dragon wings.
