A request forHe wanted the obscure gofer, Helen, from Mario Golf: Advance Tour riding on Miss Cluck the Insincere from Yoshi's Woolly World.
Well I think I gone overboard with the Woolly World part and decided to make it "Helen's Woolly World."
I had fun with the background as I tried to make it feel like the clouds and Mountains are patches with strings sowed on. Trees standing on grass as Yarns as textures are abound in this piece. Cleck the Download for Full View to see all the textures!

Thank you! At the time of the drawing, Woolly World was not released yet so Miss Cluck the Insincere was not available as clearly. So I had to wing it. The background is something I had fun with. Creating natural textures without trying to create a since of "realistic nature".
I was never a fan of Buzz and Helen but the fact that you were forced with just Niel and Ella and not have the option to play as the other two was pretty lame. The original game you had four characters and it sequel you just trim it to two? That's kinda lame. I would've like to have the option to play as Buzz or Helen, bring them to the Toadstool Tour on game cube, and flesh them out a bit. It's sad that these sports human gets more obscure and forgotten when each game of thier respective series gets a new game... I'm still hoping for a next time.

Thank you again! And I agree too. I mean when recent mario games come out I look at the roster of these games and a lot more than not, we get variants of the main characters. I mean characters like Metal Mario, and Baby versions. Because of that I only can imagine which obscure character can make a spot. Azalea, Joe, Harry, Alex etc. Why not bring them back. Pauline came back from obscurity. Heck Profiles from Joe and Azalea has them as Dancer and track star respectively. There was a DDR mario game where Joe could've fit right in. And with multiple mario and Sonic game, Azalea could've been a track character and raced for the gold in those games.

I agree. As unlockable alternate costumes works great, but having them as slot takers is redundant. For a game like mario golf or mario kart, Metal Mario should at least raise in stats. He should be in heavy class but still look in like in the middle class. He may be in that stat, I dont have mario kart 8 deluxe so I cant verify. Same for Pink Gold Peach. When it comes to babies, we dont need Baby Rosalina, or Baby Daisy just for spot fillers. Baby Mario and Luigi, had important roles in other games so having is cool and I would include Baby Peach for her role in Partners in Time. That is true. At the time of 1999, mot many mario characters were explored hence, Plum, Maple, Charlie, Sonny, and Harry come in. Waluigi is the epitome of "I need a unique for a specific role" Wario's partner.
It would've been cool to see Plum and other human characters as citizens of New Donk City. They could've wore some sort of hats, and have missions based around thier needs. That would've been cool. To me while some of the characters like Plum and Maple, might've been generalized as generic, the New Donk City are the epitome of generic and honestly I dont think they fit with the realistic aesthetic while the mayor is Pauline, a stylized character.

I personally never played Crash Team Racing but I heard it rivals Mario Kart in many ways. But that would be a great idea for costumes. Ok thanks for confirming the weight of the Metal characters. I agree. Baby Rosalina especially would be more appropriate for being a "star baby" since Rosalina has some backstory about her. Something I can't really say for Daisy or other major characters. I agree. That would've been cool. Hell Joe could've been a band member to Pauline's Band group and have Maple as a drummer. Having them instead of realistic human characters would've been much more appropriate and fitting for Mario.

Nice! I'll look into it! As for Mario Katy Tour, that's a platform that can bring in random characters like you suggested! I'm surprised King K. Rool isn't in considering he was in Mario Super Sluggers . I mean why not add those characters? Well I see Maple as a drummer considering "she's energetic" (although her voice says otherwise) she would be great for banging drums. And Joe, why not? He could be the group's hype man or something.

I love how much detail you put into the background. The lighting and shading look very good, especially on the characters. 
It's too bad that she and Buzz were never playable in Advance Tour though. They could've been starting golfers alongside Neil and Ella. ^^

Thanks a lot. The background was something I wanted to focus this time in context with the characters requested. At one point it was just gonna be speed lines but I felt it would've been lame so I experimented with the woolly world and this happened.
Yea its unfortunate. If the doubles gimmick was in play, plating as Helen and Buzz should've been an option and then if the player chooses in the second play through, could've chosen Neil or Ella as partners. It was a missed opportunity for an already good game.
