Description
Presenting Simon Smith, fox of adventure and action. Called the modern-day Indiana Jones, Simon travels the world to seek out long-lost treasures and artifacts, braving dangers and hazards to uncover hidden secrets of the past and bringing them to light. Hailing from Britain, Simon brings his English sensibilities and posh accent that charms all those who meet him first time.
A darling in the eyes of the media, and the object of affection for many females on his travels, Simon has earned a reputation as the most popular adventurer archeologist of modern times. Rubbing shoulders with celebrities, royals and even heads of state, and rubbing up with numerous lovers in the bedroom. Simon Smith is a household name and a hero to many.
But, there is a darker side to Simon Smith that many do not know.
Far from being an archeologist, Simon Smith has been criticized for seeking out the shiniest, most eye-catching and valuable artifacts at the expense, or worse damaging, other less spectacular but more historically important items. He often hires local thugs to intimidate natives into giving up their valuable artifacts or to break in and loot sacred ruins.
Simon is also rumoured to have sold artifacts on the black market to various criminal organizations, including the notorious trafficking organisation, the Exchange. He often rubs shoulders with drug lords, mafia bosses and dictators, and is said to also be a notorious womanizer. In fact, it is said that the scar on his inner left leg was not caused by an animal attack as he claimed, but rather from getting stabbed by the nudist adventuress, Shani Uzuri, after mistaking her nudity as an invitation.
And since that incident, Simon and Shani have been bitter rivals, with Simon calling the lioness "Jiggles" due to her bare breasts. Shani, for her part, views the fox as the worst threat to archeology, history and the preservation of historical artifacts. Unfortunately for Shani, her nudism is partly the reason the media turns a blind eye to Simon's activities, for they seek a celebrity who can appear on camera and not trigger a flood of complaints from moral guardians.
But Shani won't let Simon get the upper paw, and is determined to one day cut the fox down to size, whether figuratively or literally.

December was a good opportunity for me to finally draw a proper picture of Shani's rival, Simon Smith. While he did appear in the background of Shani's 10th anniversary picture as well as in the story "The Cat and the Cobra", it was time to do him justice with a proper picture.
And it was also a chance to try a new shading technique that I learned from :Naty. Gawd, it is SO much better than my own technique that I can't believe I haven't found out about it earlier. his new method will save me so much time and effort in my future pictures.
Also played around with a new way of doing backgrounds too.
BTW, if that statuette Simon has in his paws looks familiar to you, you might be right.
