Part 5 of 17

I've been sitting on some of these for a while. You can tell by the reference, can't you.
Anyways, more than a few people have tried to get out of lectures from Eiki by offering her a drink. Then another. Then another. This usually ends with them waking up with a nasty hangover, and an amused Eiki preparing to deliver a lecture on moderation.

A Spider bake sale, I feel like that's a reference to something.

Well I know a few people who would spider dance their way over to that.

I'd buy out Yamame's Spider Bake Sale, I don't care how expensive she makes it.

Anyways, I'm really enjoying this so far, it's been quite a good use of the Touhou characters and plays really strongly as a story, I'm certainly going to enjoy this!

Spider Bake Sale...I can't xD

But yeah that aside this story is really interesting! Rarely have I seen a Touhou fic with Eiki as the main protag, and NOT being portrayed as always being naggy, for that matter. Her being friends with Satori this way is similarly intriguing...I like this a lot! ^^

great, though it's hard to tell who's saying what

'S why I usually leave some context clues if the characters are bunched up, like Eiki mentioning Satori in one bubble.

I look forward to more Undertale references.  ^_^

I also enjoy how you can keep multiple panels of the same scene from being dull.  Not only do the characters have differing expressions and poses, but there's action in the background as well.

You're also good with the speech bubbles as well: top to bottom, and having each one point clearly to their speaker.

You'd be surprised what a couple of arm models and a random character thrown in the background can do! Or maybe not, seeing as that's all I pretty much do.

One of the nice things about doing all the text in post-production is that I can make the speech bubbles do whatever I want 'em to. I don't remember where I learned to do it, though. I've been doing them like that since before my Walfas days.

The point is, you make the best Walfas comics I've seen, both in terms of formatting and story.  You should do a tutorial.

I've thought about it, but I'm not sure what I'd cover.

I can help with that.

• Taken-for-granted basics that I don't know, such as how to get from Flash scenes to a formatted comic.

• Support applications (i.e., what you use besides create.swf)

• How to make speech bubbles, particularly so you always know who’s talking.

• Story writing; not just how to write a good story, but how to write one that won’t lead to walls of text and monotonous panels.

• How to keep panels from getting monotonous.

• Importing custom props.

• Lighting effects.

And so forth.

Put more generally, break apart how you make your comics so good; each piece gets a tutorial.

Make the tutorial fun, have a Touhou character narrate the procedures.  I’d go with Mamizou to demonstrate the graphic how-tos (because she’s an illusionist) and Satori for anything story-related (because she’s a writer).  But having other characters demonstrate wouldn’t be a bad idea.  Meiling and Eirin are likely the first two characters new Walfas users’ll see, so having them act out a story would’nt be a bad idea.  For example, Patchouli’s sick, and Meiling takes her to Eientei.

I'll keep this in mind. Thanks!
