Description Finally got around to do the amazing Captain Hanni's character Rustam looking all fancy with a glass of cognac at some swanky place :U

This one was a bit tricky with using red for the shadows from the red lights, but definitely something different for me!

Thanks to for telling me what to repaint in this pic!

Man, the red lighting is gorgeous--I love how it glimmers off the character's pants.

Swanky is indeed the best word to describe this piece. Great color schem: black and red. Got a power combo going on there. haha And then you put in the glass of wine and cig and bam, the swank has reached epic levels!

Overall great piece, Stu. The clothes and features on the couch are done like the pro you are. It looks like it took a long time to get that scarf painted up.

Haha, I love how you implement Badzooks in most of your pieces (in fact, was that him in the snow below the ramp in the previous snowboarding pic?). It's almost become your new signature, man!

Was fun having red shadows for rendering, plus having reference really helps with the clothes. Also kept the lighting simple so it would pop out a bit more

Yeah that was it face down in the snow, just a fun way of putting something extra in there in each piece :]

Thanks again bol!

Hah, I spent a good time trying to figure out what were those shapes back there but someone got it rght already, the badzooks Looks classy, and the clothing is always worth mentioning, perfect! The only thing that bothered me slightly is the length of the fingers of his left hand, though I'm not that used to holding cigarettes myself.

Your last few pics (last as in "last couple of years") have some interesting quality that resembles me of high-class catalogs for menswear or street clothing, even the sporty ones do look elegant in their own way. Top notch!

went back and adjusted the fingers a little finally, and rotated the ciggie to something more plausible.
Thanks again for your feedback bol!

Looks good Sometimes it's pretty tough to change something in a pic that's already finished, aye? Glad you could do it!

Yeah that thing gets around for sure :]
Looking again yeah I see what you mean with the fingers, the little finger should probably be shorted a little, and the middle lengthened a little more, with a little bit of bounce to show that it is over the cigi. I'll have a look at updating that :]
It is an odd way of holding a smoke, guess it would be put to the mouth backhand style looking devilish?
I think throwing a scarf on top makes it look more classy than it is. I should try and look more presentable myself instead of just wearing pants and a hoodie :I
Cheers again Raf for all the rad feed back :]

Looks very nice expect for the foot that looks very broken, its angle is odd compared to where the knee is, at least if he's supposed to be relaxed. Guess he could be lifting the foot

stucat In reply to MissFlesh [2012-03-29 05:55:44 +0000 UTC]

Cheers for the feed back :]
yeah I was having trouble with that foot, tried a few different places, and angles. I think it might be how I rendered the knee, as my foot lies almost parallel with the leg it's resting on. But my knee points high since I'm not that flexible in that joint :I
I'd be best to get more ref for poses I'm not to natural at next time :]

Hah, he looks pretty fancy. Dang you sure can get detailed with clothing--same goes for fur realism too. This one appears a lot more laid back and calm compared to your last dynamic update, but it's always nice to see variety in your work.

Keep it up dude.

Yeah, sometimes I have to do that just to get one aspect of a drawing finished, or several. x_x I even reference my own art sometimes to remember how I did something, hah.

Sure thing dude. :]
