I didn't vote for him in my first election even though I wanted to. I voted Liberal in an attempt to keep Harper out of power. Jack Layton was a great politican and I've very sad he never got to be Prime Minister.

I actually named my fish after him.

I never voted for the man, but I thought it was tragic that he died when he did.

Even if you don't vote for someone doesn't mean you don't like him

He just seemed like a guy who could sit down and laugh with. And his words in his final letter to Canadians really struck me. He will be missed! Nice stamp

Wonderful!, I was always an admirer of that man and only regret that I didn't get to meet him.
The best politician we're ever to have known. I hope for his sake that NPD is going to go far!

Even when I was younger and didn't understand politics at all, I trusted him. It's really... hard, for some reason, to think about his passing. Almost like he was a good friend, even if I never met him.
It felt like he was the only politician who actually cared about the Canadian people, and I'm sad to see him go.
Rest in peace, Jack.

"Almost like he was a good friend, even if I never met him."

This.
Didn't always agree with him or his party, but I couldn't help but like the guy so much.

Thank you so much for this stamp!

I was absolutely shocked this morning when I heard about him passing. He was pretty much the only legit politician who actually gave a shit about the Canadian people, and lived what he believed.
That letter he wrote was profound and spoke to me on a level that, honestly, I can't compare to anything else.

RIP Jack "BAMF" Layton.

His letter really, truly reaffirmed what kind of person he is - definitely one of a kind. There was and still is no other politician that comes close to him in his honesty, integrity, and charisma.

I hope he becomes a martyr and we have a socialist revolution.

LOL jk, I hope they can find someone with that much integrity to replace him. That's going to be very hard.

and thanks brotato

Whoever does take over the NDP is going to have their work cut out for them. Layton was their leader for as long as I can remember.
