Description Just one of my favorite portraits. I know it doesn't carry the same weight since you don't know her, but if you did you'd know that this captured expression also captured the outward manifestation of her personality. I'm very happy with myself for managing to get this image.

Shot on the Monona Terrace in Madison, WI. Natural light, overcast day.

Tech Specs:
Canon EOS 1D Mark II
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM
RAW processed in PS CS 3

I'm entranced by this portrait. It is captured wonderfully and the subject is simply breath-takingly beautiful.

lovely shot dude

is it odd that the whole portrait reminds me of Ireland? i don't really know why. me mam's next to me, and she's Irish, and she agrees

i do like that you display some of your work in colour and greyscale, but this has such a warmth and sense of friendliness about it to me, it beats the greyscale version hands down.

thats just my humble opinion though

It's funny you say that, my family is still VERY Irish... I missed hereditary citizenship by 1 generation. This is my sister, Mary Kate, daughter of Kathleen Blake, sister of Sean Patrick

Colour is better, I agree. But I liked the black and white, if I ignored the colour version. Bah, so indecisive.

Excellent! One of my favorite portraits as well. I usually do a lot of BW and also enjoy BW from others but this time the colors just look too damn good. For me it's no contest, i think this photo was born in color. You know i don't like to dissect art so sorry, no advanced critique from me. I'll just leave you with this: there is nothing i don't like about it.

I agree. It's her red hair, i think that's what makes it belong in colour. This is my sister, of course, and my family is very proud of our Irish heritage, which obviously is very prevalent in our blood.

That was advanced enough, I always appreciate your input. Thanks very much.

Love her smile.

I think I like the color version more.
