Description
(alternate title: "Eternal Life") Oil pastel on paper. This drawing arose from some musing about death, actually. It was an image that came to me and demanded that I make it! I am like that tree, bound inside the seed of my life here, and when this body dies the true life which has been growing and nurtured all that time will emerge. Then I will be "like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither."Related content

Hi there, I'm currently desperately looking for photos such as this to be published in the first edition of Brainwash Magazine (www.pozible.com/brainwashproject) and this would be great in the mag. I really like the concept of this 
The texture/colours of the leaves looks so pretty and I love the inclusion of the blue blue tones throughout the trunk/roots of the tree. I do find the swirls in the sky a little distracting - they work really well in the background but I think the ones in the sky take away a little from all the pretty colours/details of the tree. I personally think the hands are facing towards us too far and perhaps should be more side-on but that might just be me lol.

You may be right about the hands, but I was working from a photo of the hands from an ad (they were holding something similar, like a large ball or bowl or something, but were probably photoshopped together in the ad).
My husband says those inner swirlies are eyes and the trunk and roots of the tree are the nose and beard of a face...

Maybe or perhaps I would just hold things weird lol (I tried to picture how I would hold something of a similar shape/size).
I do see the face now that you mention it.
