Prompted by an old topic "Tall". Hobbits are the opposite of tall, but Bilbo's tales of adventure were tall indeed as far as Frodo was concerned! Bilbo was recounting the most frightening bits, but Frodo had heard the tales so often he was no longer frightened. Still, the stories held his rapt attention.Kimberly watercolor pencils, Prang semi-moist watercolors, and a super-fine Pitt artist pen on cold-press watercolor paper; approx. 11x14". Salt was used for texture in the background behind the spider.

Indeed. I think he loved them, because all seemed so heroic and full of wonders to him and, exactly as he says in the movie, when he discovers his own adventure he realizes it's much more serious and not so wonderful and heroic (although he saved Middle-Earth).
