Description Now that they've screwed Spidey up and given him organic web shooters I thought it would be funny if somehow Deadpool got ahold of the old mechanical wrist ones.

This is of course a hommage or maybe a direct rip-off of McFarlane's adjectiveless Spider-Man #1 cover.

You know, that marvel new spiderman movie will have the web shooters. AND they are Freaking going to tell the same MF'ing story again. how do they get away with this?

The Reason I took the webshooters was to STOP Marvel from restarting the Spiderman Series. some garbage about the FANS was not happy with the whole organic/bio/web creating/natural silk...SOMETHING! BAAAAHHH! It didn't work....I tried People..........

I've liked the new Spidey movies for the most part. #3 was a bit of a let down.

I think the 3dr movie was a bit rushed, don't you think? having multiple bad guys is not a good thing for super hero movies.....like the last batman movie...(how could they have let Bruce Wayne sit on his ass for 8 years....and what's up with Banes voice?)

I just saw the Amazing Spiderman movie and I love it and not like it at the same time. It was more true to the comic books but yet they rushed the story 2 or 3 times...almost had an Avatar feel to it. still like the first movie better. to me it had more feeling.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Nicely done, and didnt DP realize to shut it off all he had to do was release the button on his palm?

I think the palm button was the first thing to get webbed down.

And everybody would wonder what Spidey did to poor Deadpool. Because they would never guess that he stole his web-shooter...
Who am I kidding?! Wolverine would step in, problaby snikt the already poor Wade's brain out and return the webby powers to Spider-Man

[link] Thanks for the fun! Though I have to say, I now HATE spiderwebs. How long did it take you to DRAW those?!?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

stvnhthr In reply to Merides [2010-04-03 13:39:32 +0000 UTC]

I printed out a blue line copy of the Spider-Man #1 cover so I tried to draw the webs exactly as Todd McFarlane did; this made it take a lot longer, I should have just drawn them from scratch. I think I drew this on and off over 2 or 3 days.

That's about how I colored it - on and off... Though technically I did a bucket fill, then erased. Still, it took quite some time.

RedRodent [2008-08-25 19:59:20 +0000 UTC]

Again with the great inks! Very nice. Since I only saw the movies, I didn't know Spiderman ever had mechanical shooters.

I'd have read the comics, but well, I prefer modern comics... There's a lot less of... Action that's spoken as well as acted out. I just find that cheesy. You know the deal. Character says he's going to punch someone, as he punches them.

stvnhthr In reply to RedRodent [2008-08-25 20:17:38 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I barely read comics any more. Few say anything important, I just buy them for the pretty pictures.

If you're looking for a good read try Bone by Jeff Smith (that is, if you haven't already). Also, Doug TenNapel is a very very good writer and artist. I like his ink work. Very raw, very powerful and expressionate. Highly recommend looking him up!

stvnhthr In reply to RedRodent [2008-08-27 12:35:04 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know Jeff Smith and his Bone work is excellent. I do really dig everything Doug TenNapel does, Tommysaurus Rex being my favorite. You have great taste!

Thanks! Man, I was just thinking about Tommysaurus Rex. That was a good one! The... Humor was a bit different from what I expected though!

I'm borrowing Flink and Earthboy Jacobus from a friend, right now... Can't wait to get reading those.

Well, I can't take credit for the pose and perspective as this is pretty much just ripping off of Todd McFarlane's illustration for the cover of Spider-man #1, which he redid for Spidey #13, as well as Spawn #8. I just wanted something fun I could doodle on outside while watching the kids and didn't require any straight lines.

This reminds me of Deadpool #11, of his old series. I love that guy and how he messes with the sacred laws of comic book convention and for the most part gets away with it. The few times he and Spider-Man have interacted have been hilarious in my opinion.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

stvnhthr In reply to Saqism [2008-08-25 20:16:39 +0000 UTC]

Deadpool was created as sort of the darker mirror image of Spidey. I always loved his comics. He is like the mayhem of GTA 4 put in a super hero costume.

Saqism In reply to stvnhthr [2008-08-26 12:32:53 +0000 UTC]

For that very reason I think Deadpool should have his own video game. Kind of hoping he'll be in Web of Shadows.

It is funny that Deadpool is in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. My 5 year old son loves playing him cause of all the smack he talks.

Saqism In reply to stvnhthr [2008-08-27 15:30:02 +0000 UTC]

He's way funnier than Spider-Man. Of course, if all you had to do all day was sit around thinking up one-liners, then you'd be pretty funny too. In more ways than one.

In "Disassembled," Spider-Man develops the ability to shoot organic webbing from his wrists (after he recovered from being changed into a spider), and he stopped using his Web-Shooters.
