Woooo~!!
So proud of this outfit in more than one way~
This is my first Chinese designed cosplay!! Which despite the high split I could not help but dedicate to my grandfather since I always wanted to make something to show my desire to create a dress from my Chinese heritage. So high split on the xibao aside..This is for you grandpa!!!>u<

This Xibao was a fun and in some ways a very challenging outfit.
My patience I think was the most challenging bit as all the gold sequins and glass beads were hand sewn individually by hand...~ ~;;' This outfit I think made me hate sequins for a few good months. BECAUSE IT WAS EVERYWHERE!!!!! All over the floor and in shoes and beds..everywhere...Also, the flower design was cut out from 3 different gold tinted brocades and sewn down in place as well heat bonded then embellished with sequins and beads. In the proper areas I felt that added cute beaded frogs would just completely the whole look to the dress. And I STRICTLY kept to red and gold as in the Chinese culture they mean happiness and luck.~
The pattern for the Xibao was actually...an old t-shirt I had~! I just cut the t-shirt at the seams and then measured out the proper length on the fabric the sizes with a ruler and chalk. Tada~!! cheap, easy, and free pattern (' u ' )

The wig is two pieces that was kind enough to help me get and so, the pieces were placed together as the roses were sewn down in place. The medallion with beads and bells and 'crown', I made by lopping small metal o rings and with pliers secured them in place, and then sewn onto the wig.
The Bracelet was made with an old flower themed bracelet I had and I added Chinese coins [yuan(sorry if I got it wrong)] to them.
Lastly, the shoes were hand painted and lined with gold sequins and beaded frogs.
