are your renders the ones on the Jazz website? I'm doing a Honda website in early 2010, and noticed there are renders on the Jazz site which look like this render here.

Naa they are not mine. the ones on the site are photos with heavy retouching.

this render is extremely clean. if i may, how did you do the tire treads? ive been trying bump mapping but it looks horrible compared to these!

subaqua In reply to Seele-Zerkleinerungs [2009-10-11 06:16:39 +0000 UTC]
Thanks.
I built the tire tread out of poly mesh. You only have to model one patch and then just repeat it all around.

i made one patch around the base tire then put the pivot point in the centre of the tire and duplicated it around.

thats probably easier than what i just did: make one patch, clone several out, then bend around the tire.

It's obviously very realistic and detailed render. Yet my question is: Why did you put so much effort to create exact virtual copy of something that actually does exist??? Seems kinda pointless to me (no offense). I mean, I would understand if you've made some virtual tuning of the car or pushed the design further, transformed it. But this is just like Honda Jazz studio shot (which would be probably much more easier to do and would look pretty much the same IMO)...
