Description
Falling silent and still for an esteemed minute each year.Pondering, reminiscing, mourning over forgotten lives.
Driving them from their graves for 60 seconds.
Only to be buried again, immersed in our straying souls.
Silenced by our teachers; we hear a giggle here and there.
Silenced by the dead? A new crime has been recognised: breathing.
Deceased heroes, who battled for their country, their lives, their family.
Newfound passion drives us through an emotional duration of time.
In a second, they are lost. Β We move on, yet they never will.
They will never cross our minds again as we fight our own battles.
The single poppy displayed on our jacket is now a mere accessory.
It wonβt mean anything, none of it will ever mean anything again.
Until the next minute, next year.

The emotion within this poem is strong. The contrast of this piece sets the mood for the whole poem. For it engages me as the reader to deeply feel the true emotions expressed. My head is going down memory lane doing some real thinking of this moment now; the future and the past, laughing even tearing at all the memories that will forever last. For a heart full of kindness and love; love will know no boundries. From the beginning, they've been there for us all. They were always more than our guides to life; they were someone that we could always count on to be on our sides; bold, intuitive and strong human beings; a symbol of all that we cherish. Male or female; no matter thier age; good or bad; we are all one race HUMAN BEINGS...Even if it has been many years pasted that one day will always mean something. Silence should be no more for the decieced. Thier memories lived will always be passed down generation to genration. Right now as I let my thoughts free I know GOD is watching over us all.
