beautiful photo. I used to work at a ranch and the kildeer would lay their eggs in some seriously questionable places: pastures full of half ton hoofed animals, the driveway, but my favorite were the ones who chose our nice sandy riding arena. It really seemed like a safety third kind of parenting style.

Killdeer are so cute! And their eggs - I had no idea they were so beautiful! They like to nest right out in the open, so they're often bush-hogged or mowed down. Or stepped on.

I hope they made it. I've seen eggs that looked like that before--curious what type of birds they belong to!

Glad you took a picture of them. I know you just found them there but they look neat on the speckled backdrop. You've got a good eye.

The eggs were really pretty! Nature has such an amazing way of creating beautiful designs like that that humans could only mimic.

Ah, killdeer... they really do make their nests in the most ridiculous places. Strangely, I've never actually seen their eggs before. They're gorgeous. Wonderful shot! I hope those eggs make it too.

not really birds. eggs; more like a fetus encasement.

lol

it was either this or photojournalism

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

codypwnsnoobz In reply to SublimeBudd [2009-07-20 02:44:46 +0000 UTC]

photojournalism would have worked. because photojournalism is journalism through pictures, you could be "writting" a journal about how life begins. my photo was me "writing" about my local surroundings and culture and how wasteful, destructive, and careless we are.

almost every thing i shoot is photojournalism.. i know what it is.. lol

i am a photojournalist

i just post things in other categories sometimes.. but all pictures have a story.. most just dont choose to tell it
