Thanks.Β  I'm glad you appreciate the reference.Β  While Charon was an oarsman in the myths, this is my more "cosmic" interpretation.Β 
You can play with MB3D lighting settings to generate the volumetric fog, but it also helps to start with a soft background for a more smooth transition.
