your shading is superb, how did you make it?

with airbrush? how do you star from darker to brighter or the other way around?

After the sketch, you have to color it (every area with the basic color). Afterwards you make a new Layer for shadows and one for light (you might use more than one for shadow/light of corse for harder parts). Turn the shadow layer to "multiply" and the light one to "screen". For the shadow layer you use a very very dark blue, for the light you use a very bright color.
The key to good shading is the brush setting. I only use the normal round brush: (Hardness 0%, Ocapicity between 1 and 10%).

very nice! glad that my advice helped you you might try to make shadows a little bit darker (on the side away from the fire) if you do so, make it on a new layer, so you dont mess up the old work

yes the eyes... I wanted to do the details at the end, but I figured out that it is more important for me to get more practice by doing more works than spending an eternity at one.
I allways liked to see peoples progress from pice to pice so i uploaded this (unfinished) one up, to give that back to other people
