Political Standing: Because the Sakei Ichizoku are a newer, smaller Clan in Konohagakure that have had strong roots in the Yakuza, plus their primary business of making their own special brand of sake and often selling it just a bit illegally, they have a rather bad reputation throughout the village. Their rough appearances, manners and temperaments also do not help to improve their reputation either. This is also why almost all Sakei Clan children are placed on the same genin team. However, they are a strong clan that produce many exceptional ninja, as such their "indiscretions" are generally over looked.

Clan History:
The Children of Raijin - Clan Legend: An ancient clan legend says that the Sakei Ichizoku are descended from Raijin, the god of lightning, thunder and storms via a rogue lightning strike hitting a special barrel of sake that had been blessed by Inari Ōkami during a gathering of the gods. The newer generations find the old tale entertaining, but absolutely ludicrous.

The first members of the Sakei Ichizoku relocated from Kumogakure to Konohagakure many generations ago, and while along their journey a few married some individuals from Sunagakure and even married some individuals from Kirigakure and Amegakure.

When the Clan resided in Kumogakure they were known by the surname: Igarashi (Fifty Storms). However, when they left to join Konohagakure, they changed their surname.

The Sakei Ichizoku owns and runs several popular izakaya in Konohagakure where they serve their own brand of sake. After the Fourth Shinobi World War, Sakei Eishun, the youngest son of Sakei Keizou, the former Clan Head more-or-less retires from being a shinobi and personally runs one of the family izakaya. Their sake is very popular in Kirigakure, and has recently started to gain some traction in Kusagakure as well.

No Sakei Clan child has ever ended up in the Konoha Orphanage, as the Sakei take care of their own -- the orphaned child(ren) are always adopted back into the clan especially if they do not have any remaining close relatives.
