Description
--- Tsukino Ichizoku ---
Clan Name: Tsukino
Kanji: 月野
Meaning: Of the Moon
Clan Titles/Epitaphs:
Clan Species: Human
Clan Head: Mikazuki Namida (Shippuden: Fourth Shinobi World War-Boruto: Next Gen)
Important/Notable Members:
The Seven Elders - Often simply called, "Chōrō-tachi", or The Elders they are the oldest, and considered to be the strongest and the wisest members and in place of a single clan head, they serve as leadership of the entire clan. As such, they hold a lot of sway over the clan; at times, they even have more power over the goings on than the Clan Head herself.
Tsuki no Miusagi - The first official and sole Head of the Tsukino Clan.
Tsuki no Tsukishiro - The second official and sole Head of the Tsukino Clan.
Tsuki no Nodoka - The third official and sole Head of the Tsukino Clan.
Political Standing: After the Fourth Shinobi World War, they have a very shaky standing in the Shinobi Union. No one really trusts them and they don't particularly trust anyone else; the past is not an easy thing to forget or forgive for either side. Although their closeness with Konohagakure gives them a slightly more stable standing with the others. Mikazuki Namida fights tirelessly every day to improve relations between her Clan and the rest of the Shinobi Union to insure peace for the current and future generations of her Clan.
Clan Politics/Goals:
Allied Clans: Due to their villainous history, and contempt of men they have no allies.
Hostile Clans: Due to their villainous history, and contempt of men they have many enemies all over the shinobi world.
Clan Alliance: They are a predominantly nomadic clan so they have no alliance to any one Hidden Village or land.
However, after the Fourth Shinobi World War, Mikazuki Namida personally met with the Samurai Leader of the Land of Iron, Mifune, in order to negotiate a peaceful solution to her Clan's unofficial homesteading in their land. It took nearly a month of meditations, but Namida was successful and the Tsukino Clan's settlement was officially recognized by The Land of Iron, as well as the Shinobi Union.
Clan Location: They are a predominantly nomadic clan, but have temporarily settled down in Tetsu no Kuni, the Land of Iron to raise a few generations before they move on to another place.
After the Fourth Shinobi World War Namida would actually like to establish an official Village, of sorts, for the Tsukino Clan in the Land of Iron, but has been met with much resistance from within her own clan, especially from the Seven Elders, as they wish to keep their options open and not become such an obvious sitting target just in case the worse should happen.
Traits:
Hair - Any
Eyes - Any
Skin - Any
Extra - Beauty marks (Prevalent)
Chakra Nature(s): Any; A unique trait among this clan is that all members are born with two, sometimes three, chakra natures. Thus when they take the test the results will differ almost every time. This unique trait allows them, with time and the proper training, to create unique Kekkei Genkai that can be passed down to their child(ren) and through them transform it into either a much more powerful ability or a whole new Kekkei Genkai. However, most never achieve their true potential.

Clan History:
- Clan Legend: For the Tsukino Ichizoku, there is no grandiose legend of their humble beginning, only truth. Truth that has been passed down through the generations, both written and orally. All throughout history, a form of the Tsukino Ichizoku has existed, they even predate the existence of shinobi.
Long before the founding of the hidden villages, during an era of endless war, a group of despondent women came to worship the Rabbit Goddess, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya. After the betrayal of her sons and the "death" of their revered Goddess, the now larger group of women having already been mistreated and or betrayed by men themselves, came to hate men completely and took it upon themselves to take the leftover power of their Goddess for themselves, because they believed that no man deserved it or should ever possess the power of their Goddess. However, they acknowledged that they still needed men in order to procreate and expand their group. It took some time and several generations, but this lead to the true foundation of the Tsukino Ichizoku.
Slightly predating and during the Warring States Period (Sengoku Jidai) is when the Tsukino Ichizoku became most prominent and their existence truly acknowledged among the many shinobi clans. Up until that time, the mysterious all female clan had been thought to be a mere horrific folktale.
Clan Traditions:
Before Mikazuki Namida became the current Clan Head, there had only been four Clan Heads that preceded her. There is only an official Clan Head in times of crisis, otherwise the Seven Elders serve as leadership. However, due to the extremely strained relationship between the Tsukino Clan and well, the entire shinobi nation even following the Fourth Shinobi World War, all of the younger members and several of the older generations thought it was best that Namida continue to be the Clan Head, as she had strong ties to Konohagakure's Sixth and future Seventh Hokage.
They are a very close knit clan as members of the same generation often call each other "sister", even if they're not truly related by blood.
When traveling to other lands or having visitors for diplomatic reasons, such as the current Clan Head Mikazuki Namida traveling to Konohagakure to oversee the Chūnin Selection Exams with two of her "bodyguards", all members of the clan in attendance must dress appropriately, as in very traditionally. In order to attend the Chūnin Selection Exams, Namida had to don a full, heavy kimono with a decorative headset and lavish hairstyle, in addition to proper makeup. If she didn't, she would not have been able to go and neither would her two "bodyguards", who also had to dress up, although not nearly as fancily as their Clan Head.
For slightly less formal, but still important occasions, Chinese Hanfu are usually worn instead of lavish kimono. However, while pregnant with each of her three children, Mikazuki Namida preferred to wear this style regularly, as it was quite comfortable and less stuffy for her growing baby bump(s), also during her first two pregnancies she was often traveling to attend important meetings with the Kage and Daimyo of other lands, so she still had to dress formally but wanted to be as comfortable as possible.
Their casual, every day wear is usually made up of either a light kimono or yukata of some sort. Hair ornaments are usually only worn during more formal events, but those of the older generations are known to don semi-fancy headgear every day, just to show off their higher-ranking status.
Many old traditions were outright abolished or changed when Mikazuki Namida became the clan head, the oldest of them that she outright abolished is the one that says no male child can be born into the clan and if it is, it must be killed upon birth. Due to this, many male newborns were killed in the years proceeding the true foundation of the clan. However, in later years the ability to detect the gender of inutero fetuses enabled any unwanted pregnancy to be terminated early on, and was seen by newer members as being much more humane.
It's brutal, but there is another age old tradition of the member of the clan killing the man who impregnates her, but only after the successful pregnancy and birth of a female child. This too was one of the first traditions of old that was outright abolished by Mikazuki Namida when she became the new clan head.
As a rule, the women of the Tsukino Ichizoku do not marry. However, after Mikazuki Namida become the new clan head she made it so that, if they so choose, the women of the clan can marry. However, there is a stipulation the Seven Elders would not budge on: upon the day of her wedding, the Tsukino female is no longer considered a member of the Tsukino Ichizoku.
When a member of the Tsukino Ichizoku dies, they are treated with the utmost respect; there is a special, lengthy ceremony wherein the entire clan attends and afterwards the deceased is cremated. Even though male newborns and fetuses were not allowed to live, they too were given a respectful ceremony that the entire clan attends and are then cremated.
Mikazuki Namida brought back the ancient tradition of adopting new members outside of the clan - her own niece, Nakano Yoi, was adopted by the clan and taught their ways upon askance. She did have to pass several trials and pledge her loyalty to the clan before she was accepted as an official member though.
Every so often the generations will have a naming trend of sorts: one of the first generations all named their children after their Goddess, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya with every daughter having the word "rabbit" in their name. In fact, the first official Head of the Tsukino Clan was from this generation: Tsukino no Miusagi. While the members of the The Seven Elders, whom are from the same generation, were all named after flowers.

--- Trivia ---
The original translation of the clan name was written as "Tsuki no", but later generations changed and shortened it to its current form.
No member of the Tsukino clan has Uchiha blood. The Uchiha Ichizoku is one of the few clans that no Tsukino woman has been able to successfully seduce.
In the past the women of this clan often trained alongside Geisha and Oiran in order to safely get close to their intended male target(s). This practice is much less common now, but some young women find that they enjoy the glamour, mystique and prestige of the art so they choose to stay and become true Geisha. During the Boruto Era, some young women have even become popular film actresses.
