Sooooooooooooooooo I don't do traditional art... like ever, but I found some scratchboard paper and thought I'd give it a shot! Doing lots of portraits, even in digital art, has helped carry over skills for traditional, so I wasn't too overwhelmed with this project, but scratching all that white out is a PAIN. I always end up tearing the paper and its an ugly mess. Thankfully my scanner didn't pick up on all those imperfections. <3
I do have more I plan on doing, so stay tuned!

this is beautiful, scratchboards can be a real pain but i love how you've managed to maintain a good focus of light, reflected light and texture. and also it really looks like Benedict to the point i recognised him without the prompt which is always a massive bonus in portraiture; really hard skill to get.
so overall congrats are in order 
us brits with our tv and actors seem to be slowly seeping all over your gallery *wink* i look forward to more!

Good, I was worried when someone didn't recognize him right away. 
And yes, for some reason all my favorite actors right now are British. Accident? Probably not.

he's still pretty localised so it might just be because he's not as well-known as could be, it definitely looks like him to me. that being said, it might not be a problem soon considering the recognition he's been getting through the american media stream... suddenly everyone is Beneddicted! not that i've noticed a difference; devoted fan for years, even pre-Sherlock ;D
awwyiss we produce the best guys, and that's why us british females are so snarky - we had to grow up with all that so wit is the next best line of defence to a fangirl

I only first saw him on Sherlock. Definitely LOVE him now, and I've gone out of the way to see a few other movies/shows he was in. Same with David Tennant.

even for all it's flaws, i'm still of the opinion that Sherlock is one of the best things to happen to british tv in a good few years; very much a Martin Freeman fan too so that's a bonus even without the fluffygingersillybatch. still its awesome that you've branched out, i love to find out that people go beyond their popular shows to find out what talent these men have. you have excellent taste m'lady
