Continuation of more Tennant love!
I love his face. Such a challenge to paint. Even if these are simple sketches, they are pretty good practice for faces. Just gotta put all the colors in all the right places. 
These were not meant to be super detailed portraits, their quicky speed paintings. Good ol' sloppy sketchies!

Do you know any tips for drawing an object viewed in profile (completely from the side) while giving it a feeling of depth?

Hmm that's hard. XD I would say playing around with more colors and back lighting. The more light that shines on an option, the more it seems to pop out, rather than looking flat. That's the only thing I could think of to help with that.

Actually, the more I look at it, the better an idea I'm getting. I'll have to do a single light source from the front, but I can make it work.
