(not so much the final two lines (every nerve, etc), but still, it seems like a torrent not unlike a cosmic whirlpool in this scene, so music meant for a plunge into a black hole seems fitting... by the way, the song has a part two (EDIT: called Cygnus X-1 Book 2: Hemispheres), so the black hole isn't the end)
