Yes. I always look for those kind of things in art works. Even the ones that weren't meant. I liked it!

yes, you're right it makes any artwork even more interesting....I do not use symbols all the time in my artworks but I try to have some geometry in my composition or organize things in a dynamic order. Sorry about this, I should have wrote "a hand with a finger pointed at the sky" in my previous reply to you.

I am speechless. That is for me the surprise number two. I am inspired also very of Arnold BΓΆcklins picture of the Venetian grave island. Alas my friend, possibly you have a little time,my interpretation and regard you.Hope you forgive that. >>>>>> [link]

I am glad you like it for I never had much feedback on this one although it was one of my favorite among all the ones I made. If you look carefully, the white figure is not only a human silhouette but also a hand with a finger pointing to the sky, like this is the direction where God wants him to be.

''I am inspired also very of Arnold BΓΆcklins picture of the Venetian grave island."

I am too, I think he is a very great painter but unfortunately he is not known very well in America. When I was young, I could spend hours looking at his Artwork and especially his Isle of the Dead series or Toteninsel. I was amazed by the grandness and magnificence of his Artwork such as ''The Sacred Wood'' And ''The Source of Spring'' and this one....I just saw your painting, I'd say it is a more modern contemporary still, you managed to convey the overwhelming impression of immobility and silence. Death is there waiting but the the white figure vividly lit by a setting sun which warm colors leaves in us a sensation of hope and maybe of new life ahead.
You did very well with this one too

It is very beautiful to read its epic answer. One notices in your words how intensively and philosophically you reflect the subject of death. Out of your words, the positive aspect of the imperishable soul speaks. So how on your picture the hand is an invitation for the soul,to strive after the higher and better. So the secret of the world of death is freed of its frightening. It is the only what the person never will know. It has me very touched this parallel in our views to see. Thank for your interesting answer.
