Tomu Muto was originally promoted to AKB48's Team K. AtΒ AKB48 Group Daisokaku Matsuri she was transferred toΒ Team ATomu like all the members dreams beyond AKB48. Some dream to be solo performers, actresses, models and some even dream of lives outside of the entertainment industry. But for all AKB48 is a stepping stone toward their dreams.

i have to admit i've never heard of that manga, i'll check it out

There's a movie or two based off of it as well. the manga was made in 1998-1999, and the main movie was in 2000. So they aren't exactly 'new'
