Description Worked with Jpegs on this one... thought they might process quicker in camera with the 3 minute nightime exposure.
Not so! still too 3 minutes F6.3 at iso100 after dark with some moon.Noise and sharpening an issue with the compressed files... hope it worked ok.

the clouds went off! They woulda been bigger but I wasted an hour nearly walking the dog before I went out and they receeded to sea....

do you know why it is taking so long to process? I can explain if you want?

now now.. Not being cruel at all

basictly it is because your camera is inferior..

lol...

kidding..

it is actually because you most likely have "long exposure noise reduction" switched on.. This means that after the camera has taken a photo, it then turns on the sensor and takes an image from behind the shutter.. for the same duration as the long exposure.. meaning you take a 3min exposure, the shutter remains closed and the camera is processing for another 3min..

the camera is basically mapping the noise and hot pixles and then removing that from the image.. giving you a nice (slightly more) noiseless photo

LOVE what the long exposure did with the clouds, it's quite magical. Keep up the great work, your exposure technique is getting better all of the time.
