Description Took some 50 shots of ragdoll kittens. Impossible... can't be done. I dedicate this to Irene who is the cat shot master. She even gets covers of cats magazines. The little blighters have a mind of their own and its not even tuned to my wave length. Thank god for 2x good shots. This one with the Canon L lens at 35mm and stuck in the kitties face! F 8 1/25th at ISO 400.. amazed it even worked!

Awwww; Our Kira is a cross Ragdoll x Maine Coon and has a bit of that characteristic too.

The secret for my cat was a LONG lens and relying on their natural curiosity and divaness. Once they decide that you are their property, then you get the good shots. You just have to be patient. Those little stinks are going to think they own you at some stage.

Kitty is really cute.

so me on my knees 5 inches away with a wide zoom was a Miss Calculation?

Esteficita In reply to Sun-Seeker [2010-02-02 09:31:43 +0000 UTC]

Yup. I always zoomed in on my cat, because they don't like you in their face. As you said, they have their own mind and that means that humans do not get to tell them what to do. Cat photography is pretty much like bird watching, only more entertaining. You sit there with a zoom lens and wait for stuff to happen.

If they're all-white as this one appears to be, and have blue eyes as well, there's a good chance they may indeed be deaf.
