How High do you reckon from the foto... just interested how it portrays

foolhound In reply to Sun-Seeker [2006-07-21 22:56:20 +0000 UTC]

Oh I suck at distance and measurements and the like...and I'm not quite sure what you mean. Are you asking how high you were when you took the shot? Or are you asking how high I thought the mountain is?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sun-Seeker In reply to foolhound [2006-07-22 07:03:37 +0000 UTC]

No, like how many joints I'd had maaan! Yeah height of mount.... 65 feet 400 feet or 1000, feet.. go meters if you must!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

foolhound In reply to Sun-Seeker [2006-07-22 07:43:19 +0000 UTC]

Due to the fact that I have nothing to compare it too, I would have to give a very rough guess and say 80 m or so. But it could be tiny and you have taken a macro shot...one can only surmise.

Sun-Seeker In reply to foolhound [2006-07-23 11:52:03 +0000 UTC]

I just wanted to get a second impression.. my guess is you are about right.. with the 80 meters.... there nothing macro about me heheh! Thanx Gill

why photomanipulation?
tweaking some colors is no big manipulation in my eyes!
great detail!
great shot!

Thank you sir I make a big protest. My DA idol raun is taking fotos ( If you read his description ) but having DA admin move them to manipulation with even consulting him as to how they are produced. In my opinion he is not manipulating, make up you own mind and view [link] Until then for this month all my devs are going under manipulation! Let me know your view!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

d3r-t In reply to Sun-Seeker [2006-07-16 20:21:01 +0000 UTC]

i know raun and watchin him for a while now.
i think photomanipulation is right, cause he changes the sky, adds texture and so on!
but i think you shouldnt mind, cause his pics are 'famous'!! so..
500 favs are usual for him

i would jump circles if i had so many favs on one dev!

thats my view!

Sun-Seeker In reply to d3r-t [2006-07-16 20:25:43 +0000 UTC]

I think he may be using the darkroom category now... but Admin shouldn't just move work without consultation. That would bug me so hence the protest. Cheers. David

What an extraordinary sky... and what wonderful detail in the mountain itself. And - lucky with the clouds on this day! Makes for a really good composition all round.

The clouds were a royal pain in the arse! One minute bright sun, next cloud... and its was cold! Happy with the odd foto I got! how high do you think said mountain is....?

That's just soo cool. Finaly the skies over Austrailia turned green. It was bound to happen. Staying so vividly blue for so long must have worn them out.

Sun-Seeker In reply to bryan-cuttance [2006-07-12 23:41:16 +0000 UTC]

Too EZ.. get your cotteslo beach sky foto up... go to image adjust hue/saturation drop down the arrow that allows you to work just on the blue.. now lower the sat and take the hue to the left. Its fun in here.. thats how you see those desaturated old fashioned colour fotos around on DA.. took me ages to work it out and its EZ!

I like what you've done with the sky there. It makes the scene look unreal, like in a dream or something, but the mountain still looks very.....well, real in the foreground.
