The dark sky looks menacing and the whole scene carries a doomsday atmosphere. Great shot, dude.

Digital single lens reflex.... an SLR is you old film type cam you can screw on differnent lenses... digital is the same with a sensor instead of film.... my dream cam.....just 4 grand for the body without lens... and the lens is worth 2000$ leastways the one I want!

jesus .h . tapdancing . christ.
How do you get such color in your photo's.
They all have this magical kind of hue/contrast but are only landscapes of our (for the most part) very un-magical "Australiana" outback.
Or maybe thats just it, you see the magic in the outback, I just see heat, reason for beers and to many corpses on the road.
Its breathtaking!

Secret recipie revieald many time in the descriptions and comments under my pics.....you may have to read every one!
I use two techniques.... a layer converted to B/w and overlayed as in this shot and a five shot HDR technique as in battlestar and similar shots... photomatix....[link] Then if I'm really feeling perverse I will use both techniques.teh outback can be magical spec round The Alice and the last lot come from the Armidale area.... you don't need a reason for many beers... thats a reason in its self!

so you took 5 shots on a tripod of the exact same scene, then mapped them in to the one image? to expose every level of contrast? am i on the right track?
Or have I completely missed the point?
and you used the software on that link to do it?

Ahah.. I shoot in Canon 350D RAW... Rawshooter essentials2006 alows you to convert a file to a tiff... over and over again.... so I set the exposure slider to -2 and convert then -1 and 0 etc.. so I get five tiffs of the same photo... then the photomatix software.... ah so blessedly easy!

Excellent capture, wonderful rich lighting. The darkness of the clouds really catch my eyes and makes for nice contrast against the blue sky. Only suggestion--straighten the horizon line. That is all. It is stunning.
