I keep coming back to this photo, whenever I come across it is somebody elses favorites, I have to click on it again. Even in my own favorites.. which I go thru quite often. This is one deviation that I am very excited to get the print of (I would have bought it in my order I just put in but I'm afraid your prices were a little steep for me right now--I'm not trying to get you to lower them, I realize in the 'real' art world this would be a bargain!)
Anyway, I love how the background/sky blends with the boarder, it looks particularly good here, and the wide angle was so effective for this composition. I guess it's a simple shot, but just so cool.

anyway... as you saw this was shot the same day and location of 'il maestrale'. the second version kind of 'exploded' (it became like a mini-DD now, lots of views and favs), the first one kinda 'stayed behind' but once in a while I get words of appreciation like yours -it's totally abstract, simple yes and 'essential', like a place in its own (finite and infinite at the same time) dimension. someone even suggested steel balls floating in the sky

Wow this place looks unreal. I especially like how it blends into the border. A real interesting effect would be if there was something in the scene to breakup the checkered pattern and really grab your eye. A teddy bear was the first thing that came to my mind.
