"Mother, don't we have enough of our family portraits at home? Why can't we do something else besides doing family portraits?" Beauregard rolls his eyes, leaning away from his mother's hoof. "Can we maybe do a family out--"

"Beau, listen to your mother. We must set an example of ourselves to the other nobles that present themselves upon our humble abode." Blueblood interrupts, raising his hoof proudly.

".... By displaying our faces in almost every corner?" Beauregard's eyebrow arches.

"Eh eh, no sassin' young man. I can promise you for a fact that once you get a little older, you'll understand the importance of nobility. Now, raise those corners, sweet heart. We have to look our best." Suri raises her nose high, following Bluebloods aura of pride.

Ohhh boy. Y'know when you're raised in an extremely stuffy household, you're always told to "look your best" and "set an example of yourself" to the point where those words make you sick. In Beauregard's case, it was always about looking perfect not only for family portraits but for "family" parties that would involve other nobles that Blueblood associates with. It was the same ponies constantly comparing to him to his mother's beauty and father's mannerisms to the point where it would often have Beau question himself as a whole. The older he has gotten, the more he questions if his parents truly loved him as a son rather than just some shiny jewel in their collection to show off to.

Just a lot of pressure for one kid to handle. Pretty sad, really.
